Biography: Born on 14th August 1981, Federico Alejandro Combi started his professional training -oriented towards comics- at Jorge Lucas’ studio (1995-1997) where he created several comic strips, including ‘Sadic Roswel’, ‘El Engendro’ and ‘Canape’. Working together with other cartoonists, he organized various traveling exhibitions.
In 1997, believing it was time to make a change, he got involved with the ‘Asociaci?n de Est?mulos de Bellas Artes’ (Stimulus to Fine Arts Association) where he gave his first steps in Classical painting, encouraged by Viviana Kasas. Producing from Classical to Expressionist paintings, he exhibited them at the ‘Asociaci?n de Est?mulos’ as well as the ‘Sal?n J?venes Talentos de Tokyo’ (Young Talents of Tokyo Salon), Japon.
In 2003 he obtained a degree in Visual Arts, while continuing to exhibit his work with the
After the Canape group was dissolved in 2002, he decided to put up his own studio of live model called ‘Black Flowers’. This studio had two different locations- at the beginning, in the neighborhood of Belgrano and later at Rodolfo Walsh Cultural Centre, downtown.
Continuing with his inner search for drawing and technique, he decided to study with the artist D?bora Cardaci at her studio, ‘Michelangelo’.
During 2003, he produced plenty of Sacred art as well as Art Nouveau paintings using different types of canvas. It was at that moment that he became interested in antiques, so at the beginning of 2004 he opened his own decoration and antiques’ shop –‘Lisboa’- in a very arty neighborhood of Buenos Aires. His work ranged from suburban drawings to masks and wood carvings, etc.
Unfortunately, at the end of that same year he had to close the shop due to family problems.
But soon after that, he joined the Painting and Theatre Handicrafts Department at the Col?n Theatre, where he learnt manual serigraphy as well as different aesthetic concepts of the art world.
At the beginning of 2005, he resumed his studies of Fantasy Art -his first love- at the studio of Carlos and Enrique Villagran. That same year he produced several illustrations as a freelancer for animation production companies as well as textile companies, where he also learnt how to use serigraphic machinery, including the preparation of textile colors.
Now, he is making many illustrations for other countries.
