Christine Philipps paintings distinguish through her choice of apparently ordinary everyday subjects; bus stops, airport terminals, train stations become abstract scenarios, that always appear deserted. These motives in the foreground become an epic cause for communication through artistical expression that goes far deeper. Christine Philipp analyses immaterial phenomena such as light, air and water and interprets their effects pictorially. She moves competently between reality and the abstract and leaves the viewer much room for discovery and so gives him/her the possibility to delve into a manyfold world of images. Christine Philipp creates artistic pictorial spaces, which fascinate through their cool esthetic and proove, that an often implored end to the art of painting is not to fear as all her work points to the future.
