I create video works, digital prints and paintings reflecting social and psychological context in which I grow up and live.I work in series and organized my art into groups by motif.
My early paintings present unreal conceptual landscapes, with Smitson's spiral, empty of human presence.
Portraits and selfportraits show absurd and alienation.I feel lost in space and my life.
My last figurative paintings explore issues of indentity, morality and sexuality, based on photographic sources and other art images ( computer and digital manipulised images )
My art is reflecting and inspired by ethnic, political and cultural atmosphere and (im)possibilittty of communications, as well as inter-relationships, differences and similarites between me and my encirclement. I transforming my experience of the world into something visual and aesthetic. I put things in different context. Art is my way of telling stories about my world, some kind of comment. My art is always about communications in literally and social-philosophically and psychologically meaning. For me, being an artist, is some kind of communications, a message. Extreme contrast is always been more intresting for me than something normal. I am interested in local and universal, individual and general.
For instance, my video-work "Scream" represents one long, inconceivable, endless scream as an postmodern and psycho-sociological answer to old serbian rural custom- women mourning for smb. deadth. Several young students from Serbia and Montenegro mourning for their future instead of lamenting for deceased person becouse their country has given them only tragic and shameful inheritance.
