Biography: About the Artist: Originally from Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, Joakim Bradley has made his main residence in the UK for the past 20 years. Coming to London in the 1980's, primarily as a rock & jazz session and touring musician, he also pursued his interest in the visual arts, with periods of study in both England and Italy. Joakim established eek gallery in 2002 and since then has sold hundreds of paintings to customers around the world including USA, Mexico, South Africa and Canada. About the Art: Joakim has developed a sophisticated understanding of oil paint on canvas to create richly textured, unique abstract artworks by the application, blending and stripping of successive layers of colour. Each painting takes many hours, if not days, to create. The artworks are painted on 3D box canvases. All sides are painted and staple-free, so framing is unnecessary.
