Following In the tradition of the abstract expressionist artists of the 20th century I am interested in states of mind, rather than in describing particular external events or what the physical world looks like. To me it is a fascinating aspect of abstract art that it can be a powerful means to reach the many hidden layers of non-objective experience that help make us what we are.
Biography: I was born in Sweden in 1945. My first career was as a High School teacher of English and French, but after leaving my native country in 1983 my passion for art gradually developed into a full-time profession. I have always combined my studio work with studies in the practice, history and theory of art. I studied for a Foundation Diploma at Amersham and Wycombe College, Buckinghamshire, and hold a first class BA (hons) degree from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College (BCUC). Before that I studied life drawing and paintng at Scultura and Artworks Art Centre, Provence, France for four years. I exhibit my work regularly at various venues in Buckinghamshire, London, Edingburgh and elsewhere in England and abroad.
