In art as in life, I love diversity. My work is in several styles and is executed in watermedia and collage. For me, art is a journey of creation. The viewer is invited along on this journey. As a person views my work, the human mind will find its own personal truth. I am inspired by nature, man-made objects and life. I sincerely hope that you find inspiration in my work.
Biography: In October of 2003 I received my first formal instruction. A friend that paints beautifully persuaded me to take a week-long workshop at Camp McDowell in Nauvoo, Alabama. The teacher for the class was Joan Blackburn. I am thrilled that I was able to take this class. I have learned much about design and use of color and technique. Joan's artwork is featured at Quayside Gallery
In August of 2004 I became a member of the Experimental Artists of Alabama. EAA (for short) juried two of my works into the fall exibition.
My second art workshop (October 2004) was taught by Janet Rogers. We learned to paint watercolor florals and watercolor portraits. Janet Rogers is an excellent artist and teacher. Her classes enabled me to expand my horizons in art. Today I still read and look for new methods and techniques. I experiment with color, tools and surfaces to improve my skills. Every day the sights and colors of the world push my creative buttons. Curiosity and a childlike wonder keep me looking, painting, and creating.
Take a look at the sky, at birds and plants; see the vast amount of natural color and texture that abounds. See the beauty of the world God has created for our pleasure. I want to capture the wonder of it all and share God's creation with you.
Today the walls of my home are covered with my paintings.
