My work and paintings are based upon the abstract figure using such elements as metaphoric symbolisms, colour and concept to create narratives based upon the "Eternal Feminine", within my progressive and developing style.
My work is deeply influenced by western, eastern and mediterranean artistic trends and cultures, having experienced these through my own personal life experiences. For the past eight years I have been exploring the concept of love and emotion through the symbolic figure of the eternal feminine, using this point of reference to explore the relationships between Man and Woman, and all living things. My work is a visual diary.
Biography: Born in London 1972 Hasan has been working since 1992. In 1995 he travelled and lived in India where he had the oppertunity to work with the distinguished artists M.F Husain and Shamshad Husain, residing at the Husain Sankalana Museum of Contemporary Indian Art. It is here that he further developed his own unique style mixing western artistic styles and trends with that of eastern, influenced deeply by the rich colours and diverse cultures of India. Returning to London that same year Hasan then embarked on what would be the turning point of his artistic development and new found style of painting. He travelled to Southern Spain where he was to live and paint in the Andalucian city of Granada for three years. Deeply inspired by the artist/poet Garcia Lorca and the historical surroundings of Granada it is at this point Hasan turned to the use of metaphor as his new found language within his painting, inspired by the vibrance of light and colour of Andalucia was to add to his ever changing concepts within the use of colour in his work, work which has become even more vibrant than that of his time spent in India. Having exhibited extensively in Southern Spain he now resides in London where his work can now be seen in several collections and exhibitions within europe.
