Biography: Heleen Hobelman was born in the year 1971 in a small village on the eastside of the Netherlands. Her realistic oil paintings do have the quality to touch the heart of lovers of the traditional still life as well as lovers of the abstract. Her work can therefore best be defined as modern realism. Heleen has the ability to put old craft techniques into a new coat. Heleen's method of work is very systematic in the building up of the painting. After drawing she starts with a fast drying oil colour, then she adds layer upon layer of oil colour in a extremely accurate fashion. At last she finishes her painting off with adding highlights and soft touches
