The work of Javier Santamaria has a very mystic influenced by different stages of art history as Surrealism, Fauvism, symbolism, expressionism, resulting in something very eclectic and contemporary. The technique is mainly based in mixed techniques co-produced by various procedures such as the action painting, traditional painting and contemporary painting using pigments as oils, acrylics and lacquers, all looking for the final result as unity and composition. Javier Santamaria's work is influenced mainly by nature, organic forms, natural phenomena and their relationship with men. He enters in various psychological states to understand how it operates outside influence, how it affects us as human beings and their impact on our personality. That's why he recreates many organic forms in his work as an analogy of how this is presented in the nature. But in this case it is the mental nature, something that is very difficult to control but which our civilization has led to what we are today. In his artwork there are new forms that they are derived from reality, there is growing his own vegetation, his own tree, its natural to be a metaphor for all the events and experiences that we all have internal as human beings. Every human being is a different universe it means that every human being has an inner nature different from any other. The interest of the work of Javier Santamaria is to bring into a community education about transformation, renewal, evolution and depending on what is developing within our minds and our hearts we will be giving shape to this material world and influencing the rest of society.
Biography: Born in the city of Bogota, Colombia in 1978 in a traditional Colombian family which always Javier could be allowed to develop as an artist in what life brings. Since his early age gave interest to the arts because he always liked to experiment with all kinds of materials to create sculptures from drawings. It added that in his childhood he liked to create three-dimensional objects showing skill with the materials. Later when he finished his secondary studies went to the university where we was instructed for a first instance in careers in a relation with the design but he decided to change his education to plastic arts When entering in the artistic studies discovered his artistic inclinations in to the Hebrew cabbala and everything related with the mystical knowledge in humans and where it began a thorough investigation regarding the symbols that have been present in different cultures that have dominated in our civilization and its hidden nature. In addition, he gained knowledge training in painting, sculpture, photography, airbrushing, computer-assisted image, vocal technique, music and some management software to produce music by computer. He collaborated with no government organizations and institutions in favor of the displaced population in Colombia to promote culture and giving momentum to overcome those who have so needed. In the arts scene he has intervened on numerous occasions in group exhibitions and solo exhibitions by providing all the knowledge acquired to the senses of the community. He currently resides in the city of Santa Marta from which develops and promotes artistic work.
