Biography: Jean Benabou is an artist and painter,who has exhibited nationally as well as internationally. Born and raised in Southern California,she attended and graduated from Otis/Parsons, California, with a BFA and MFA in painting. At Otis she studied under Emerson Wolfer, Roy Dowell , Mike Kelly and Carol Caroompas. In 1996 she moved to Israel and lived there for 3.5 years. While there she attended Real-time academy in Tel Aviv, studied animation for one year and gained membership in the Israeli artists and painters society. Benabou returned to the U.S. and lived in Indiana for four years, teaching collage and painting techniques at Waldron art center in Bloomington, Indiana. She is married and the mother of two children, and currently works and lives in Southern California.
