I was born and live in Cornwall, and my work depicts and contains elements of the local landscape, both natural and industrial. Cornwall is well known for it's rugged coast and moorland.The areas of Fowey and St Austell also has a long history of china clay quarrying, and I use these materials and by-products within my work. Bee keeping has also played a large part in Cornish culture, so I also utilise beeswax in my work. My paintings are abstracted images from childhood memories, the paintings are both textural and highly tactile.
Biography: I left home [and college]at the age of 17years, to spend some time living the boho life in Paris, and travelling to explore Geneva and Freiburg. On returning,I fell into the work to live trap and my artistic boho existence slowly came to a halt.. Some years ago, I had a wake up call and began all over again! I have spent 5 years studying Fine Art, have completed my thesis, and will complete the BA Hons Fine Art at Plymouth University in 2006. I still have one foot in the real world-earning enough to pay the bills-but the more I study art & philosophy-the more I want to learn.
