Jenny has been creating painted and photographic images of the female form for over 10 years. Although she has experimented with various styles & themes in her work, she is always drawn back to a figurative theme. Now her exclusive focus is the female form. For Jenny, the female form “is an ever inspiring & versatile subject. The characteristics of “the woman” are intriguing & fascinating.”
Biography: Jenny Bent works as a figuratist artist, a dancer and a teacher. She lives in Cheshire with her partner Paul, 7 cats and 2 Pygmy Goats!
ARTIST - The natural world, music and her imagination inspire and fascinate Jenny not only with her painting but in her life generally!
Jenny finds the challenge of painting the human body very rewarding & it is a form of discipline as well as being relaxing & a pleasure.
"I have models to help me create my female form pieces. I photograph them as this allows me to be more spontaneous as to when I actually want to paint. It is also much cheaper! I am also the subject in some of my female form creations although I can be quite shy at times, so my face is often obscured or it is usually a side or rear view! But I am working on this; this I feel is one of my next steps in my art work, to have the balls, so to speak, to bare all, in the name of art, my art!"
NEW WORK
In her new series of figurative paintings, the female form is more realistic in light and colour. Her inspirations are from many sources including poetry, music, films and dance.
She works mainly on wood, in oils.
Jenny Bent’s work is exhibited & sold nationwide; she also has collectors of her paintings in the USA & Spain and a private collection at the Inns of Court in London.
Of her figurative work on "The Painted Nude", her work is described as portraying "… the beauty, eroticism, diversity and strength of the nude female form".
