My paintings and drawings are influenced by the modern masters of Cubism and Abstract Expressionism, as well as work of contemporary creators that I have met along the way. I feel my influences as one, present in the studio, standing like a silent guest by my side as I work more from instinct and impulse. My work is less about exact thinking and more about opening one's self up to multiple meanings and perspectives. I feel that a piece of art is successful when it inspires many different, invested and imaginative reactions. It could strike a deep, personal chord in one person and be light and airy to another. The experience of art is fascinating to me. I like to think that I make veiled (or not so) suggestions to viewers, a fragment of a story that lingers, waiting to be completed in the minds and imaginations of others.
