Biography: Raised in the rural area of Vermont, Jennifer Knapp began her stitching career at the tender age of five. Her grandmother showed her the basics of sewing, which carried her through years of independent and imaginative projects. In high school, Jennifer’s continuous enthusiasm for creative sewing sparked an interest in fashion design. Jennifer’s inspiration for her senior design collection at Lasell College took her back to her country heritage to create the line Country Couture, winner of the 2005 Rising Star Designer award. The collection is a modern approach to traditional Northeastern American country ethnic elements of art, dress, and traditional fabrications.
