Biography: West Country Artist, John Ogden has a growing reputation as a dance and figurative artist. Born in Bristol, in 1965, John originally allowed his love of art to take a backseat whilst looking after his young family. After following a series of career moves, and always seeming unsettled in life, he knew that being an artist was all he had ever really wanted to do. After studying at Gloucestershire College of Art and obtaining a qualification in Publishing and Design, he still felt restricted, and decide to follow his dream and become a ‘real’ artist. In 2002 John moved to Liskeard in Cornwall at the request of controversial Plymouth artist Robert Lenkiewicz. Unfortunately Robert was very ill and died shortly afterwards. “My life was again in turmoil, I had given everything up to follow this path, and even though life had once again thrown a curve at me, I was not going to give up. How could I this was my life, my dream.” His dream progresses, as does his work, as does his following.
