Growing up, I cannot remember a time when I did not draw. I would draw in my writing class journal assignments in second grade and I created dioramas of dinosaurs and popular television shows at day care. I would always finish my art projects earlier that everyone else and eventually progressed to the gifted art programs and the independent study courses. Spending the last tow years of High School in the Senior level Art Studio, I have persistently challenged myself in all mediums. I exposed myself to color theories in my independent paintings, and drew illustrations in my many sketchbooks. My artistic inspirations include Mondrian, Frank Lloyd Wright, Alphonse Mucha, Margaret Macintosh, William Morris and the French Art Nouevau style and the Arts and Crafts Movement.
When I wasn’t creating art, I was creating music. I was involved in many Orchestras and attended the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division for two years. Music soon began to flow into my art and I became immersed in the translation of music and art, also how they coincided. My music had even brought me to London and Paris where I was inspired by the same sights as historic master artists. I am no longer participating in any orchestras, however music has become a permanent inspiration.
I have always found problem solving a release for creating and artistic potential. Problems, both visual and algebraic have allowed me to think differently. In early years of mathematics I realized that the difficulty was not in the multiplication or division of numbers or variables, but in getting from one point in a problem to the solution. Although I never excelled in mathematics, I did gain vital experience in the pursuit to find a solution to the problem at hand. Experience that I was easily able to translate visually through art.
Visual Learning is the easiest way to interact with a person and have them walk away comprehending and remembering an artists message. I am excited to receive visual challenges that allow me to develop a creative solution.
