Karel Stoop The meeting with other cultures has always been an enriching and decisive element in my artistic creations. It has forced me to experiment and to search for universal concepts. I like to call it the unification of the impossible to recognizable and meaningful forms. This way of working has learned me not being a product of my culture, but the contrary to help creating a wider culture and at the same time obtaining a deeper concept of my particular roots. For this reason all my paintings are full with elements related the universe , life, culture and the last years above all the integration of everyday elements in a cosmic concept. These ideas may not surprise that my work is going from complete abstract to somehow recognizable forms as stars, planets, animals persons and objects.
