Art is my expression of life. Through art I can express the beauty that is all around me and emphasize what is really beautiful. Before each painting I think about what I want to create and in my mind I see the painting in all of its glory before my brush ever touches the canvas.
Sometimes it takes weeks of preparation to come up with an image in my head. To get an image I use every possible means, from photography to digital imaging. Before I start a project I create a near perfect computer image which mirrors the final result. Then, through a process that takes me on a personal adventure, I paint the image on smooth canvas.
I try to reproduce textures and colors to their maximum quality. For this reason I use only the best Italian products, bought in the greatest art store in the world near the Duomo in Firenze.
To paint skies I use an airbrush to mimic "the air".
For rocks I use heavy paint mixtures that give weight.
For glass and water I use a brilliant final varnish that makes reflection.
I make this effort so that the viewer can enter a world, which I have created. I want to create space where there is none, color that springs forth for our eyes to enjoy, and give back to the world its beauty, which it has so generously given to me.
