Matt Jackson is a Special Effects Artist with seven years of work experience creating puppets, props, prosthetics, models, and masks for film, television, advertising and theatre. With an emphasis in sculpture, he's adversed in the materials of various clays, polystyrene, sheet foam, wood, and wax. He also has much experience in the techniques of molding and casting with epoxy resins, polyester resins, fiberglass, silicone, plaster, and plastics. Past freelance clients have included Randy Carfagno Productions: (HASBRO Toys, Disney's Tarzan The Musical, Washington National's Major League Baseball, Camel Cigarettes; AXE Deodorant); Spaeth Design (Macy's Dept. Store, Sak's Fitfth Ave.); Miss Coney Island 2007; Celebrate Flowers (Macy's); Purple Crayon Films; Studio Iodyne; Squonk Opera; and many more. He is available for either freelance positions or long term, in-house work from New York to London, and beyond....
Biography: Born in the rolling hills of Nowhere, Ohio, Matt then ventured off to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After three years, he graduated with honors from Industrial Design Technology/ Special Effects for Film. He has since moved to New York City where he has worked for several years as a full-time freelance sculptor. At the same time, he has also toured western Europe with an original one-man puppet show that is currently in redevelopment, and has also participated in several solo/group gallery exhibitions. Not to mention... trying unsuccessfully many times to record the full-length album of the music that's trapped between his head and hands.
