Polish sculptor, member of The Royal British Society of Sculptors
As an artist I mainly work in traditional sculpture materials as wood, stone, ceramics and metal, also willingly making experiments and applying new technologies in my works.I like travelling and working in different places of the world, which beside finding new inspirations and possibilities of meeting new interesting people and getting to know new countries and cultures, gives me an opportunity to work in new materials that are not accessible in other places.
My inspiration is mainly a man, especially in the aspect of culture, in relation with other people in the world of globalisation and necessity of living next to the people of totally different backgrounds and conserving his/her traditions and heritage which helps to build a new system of values of tolerance and equality, but gives identity and self-conscience.
In my work I often refer to indigenous cultures and apply elements of symbolism and ornamentation. The idea is not a scientific analysis of the culture, but a usage of the artistic language, transmission of impressions, fascination as well as doubts derived from contacts with a distinct world: religion, culture, tradition and, above all, people living in a totally different system of values.
