To me abstract art brings out my inner self and the creativity which I was born with. When I create art it gives me a total high and a release of the extreme sensitivity I embody constantly. Often people describe my artwork as dreamy, harmonious, and sensual. Elle (China) fashion Magazine wrote in 2003, that I am the “man of colors and emotions”
I usually start painting from the floor by using my bare hands, feet, paint brushes, paint rollers, canvas on canvas and occasionally my body. I title my paintings in English and Spanish. My artwork is currently separated into three periods and the continuation of the “Persona” (Self-Portraits). Each period reflects some aspects of my life at that time.
Period 3 is my recent work (some have yet to be up-loaded) Color plays a minor role in my recent paintings. Although nature, mountain, human, and the city are the subjects of my paintings, some of the paintings have no true appearance of the subjects visible to the observer. However, period 3 also contains more building structures from my Shanghai experience, most reflect the solitude I seek in its astronomical building boom.
During my earlier work I painted bright colors, and drew smooth contour lines from Period 1, but I have not felt the urge to do so in the last few years.
