Biography: Navid Eghbalieh immigrated to America in 1987, began school, learning English and the American way of life as his family encouraged him to practice the values of service and creativity they had always upheld. In high school, Navid completed sketches for his unsuspecting art teacher, who informed Navid’s mother of his natural skills. The discovery of his artistic talent led Navid to seek out an instructor, Hoosang Peyman who would nurture the young artist through countless hours, strict methods and inspirational challenge. Through the years, as Navid progressed through high school and then on to college at UCLA, his pre-medical academic discipline seemed at times to pose a conflicting responsibility. Undeterred, however, Navid united his commitment to scholastic achievement with artistic grandeur, ultimately tying his community service work with Los Angeles homeless clinics to his growing independence in the studio. His interpretations of the great masters showed delicacy and precision, but an appetite to present modern conflict soon led Navid to the work you see before you. Navid completed medical school and is currently completing his residency in Radiology.
