We all grow up in an environment where aesthetics are largely taken for granted. In my work, I try and resolve aesthetic solutions in such a way as to make an immediate impact on the audience, whether it be subtle or not. I grew up wondering what it was that made certain pieces more or less aesthetic, only to find that encounters with art/social theory would negate the value of aesthetics to an extent. This lack of focus on what I consider to be of paramount importance in an environment where provoking the senses is commonplace, moved me to fully understand the aesthetic process and provide evidence of its understated value.
Biography: Born 1983 GCSE and A-Level Art Studying for BA(Hons) in Fine Art at Oxford Brookes University, UK I grew up fortunate enough to be surrounded by works of art by artists such as Ben Nicholson, Naum Gabo and Barbara Hepworth, through to Van Dyk, Thomas Hudson and George Romney. My family has a strong background in architecture, which only added to my appreciation of art, and as i grew older, the science behind art. Music, Sculpture, Painting and Writing are the main venues through which i have learnt to express mysely. However, an interest in technology from a young age has helped me maintain a fairly open-minded view of the manifestations of art.
