My life is constantly changing and I try to express the many facets of my experience through my art. The meaning of my work speaks for itself. I find the answers once I am through. Something in my subconscious controls every move I make in my creative process, so for me to say I want to paint something about love or about politics, it just doesn’t work that way. Once I’m done I can really look at the finished product just like a memory or a dream and truly be able to interpret and explore its true meaning. When in the process of creation I begin with a blank slate, but as my creation evolves I feel as though I am giving life to this blank slate. I watch it come alive as the colors dance across the canvas. This is the true gift of being an artist. I wish to share my gift with you.
Biography: Coming from a family of artists, creativity was one of the greatest gifts Rachel has ever received. She has always been a creative person, from writing poetry and short stories, to drawings and sketches as a child. Rachel discovered her passion for painting as a teenager, finding it to be her salvation at a time in life that is chaotic enough. Her style varies from whimsical to abstract to representational. Her use of intense, vivid, color help to stimulate the senses and trigger emotion in those viewing. Aside from a few demonstrative classes in high school, Rachel has had no formal training in painting. She is currently pursuing a degree in art and design. In addition to painting, Rachel has explored other avenues of art such as graphic design, photography, sculpting, painting ceramics, creating greeting cards, mosaics, and performance art (Modern dance choreography and Butoh).
