Art is one way for me to escape reality. It takes me to a place I want to be. It’s a way to express the way I feel. Even though it may not be about the subject, the colors bring out feelings. Being a more expressive artist is a main goal. I may draw just to be drawing, but I want people to understand why I draw what I do. An aspiration of mine is to be able to become a more abstract artist. More of an out there artist, not scared to mess up a piece of work. The part I enjoy most about art is discovering new effects and methods that materials and tools can give. Oil pastels have always seemed to be my favorite tool because I like to blend colors together to my perfection. But don’t remind me that working with pastels get my hands a bit dirty. Graphite pencils have also been a favorite because it’s an amazing way to shade and blend. Watercolors have never been a stronger point. Themes I also seem to go by are places I’d rather be. Laying on the beach under palm trees watching the stunning sunset. When I look back at pictures I drew when I was younger, I’ve realized that even children draw with what they feel. It’s amazing to look at work that looks so messy but perfect, all at once. I want to begin exploring more textured artwork. Attempting to explore new styles are art is what I admire. I’m also attempting to have more influential points to give me inspiration to draw or paint.
Biography: Soon to be senior in high school I've grown from scibble lines, off balanced, random abstract unknown objects. Growing up I visited Florida many time to visit family, which is why palm trees and oceans have been a theme for me to start from. Family and friends are a major part of my life and I enjoy spending as much time as I can with them. They have also helped me with my art. They've giving me a backbone and are pushing me to pursue my dreams.
