Robert states that his art is not about any one approach but is more about pushing and experimenting with various elements and techniques. The discoveries he makes along the way are what enable him to grow as a painter and fuel his desire to become a better artist.
Biography: Robert Spooner was born in Roswell, New Mexico in 1956. He received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1978 and pursued a career in graphic design. It was not until 1998 that he developed an interest in oil painting after having taken it up as a creative antidote to the structured advertising world where he was working as a designer and illustrator. He became further motivated to continue on this path of expression when he enrolled in painting classes at the Denver Art Students League and studied with noted painters Kim English and Quang Ho.
