As a native of the beautiful Missisippi Gulf Coast, my art is greatly influenced by my southern culture and the beach area I grew up with. I am fascinated by ordinary, everyday people, their quirky eccentric habits and their relationships with their pets and each other. In my paintings, no one is self-conscious of their bodies - they have made peace with them and are just carrying on with everyday life. As you can probably tell, I love humor which I mine a daily basis - a smile or a chuckle are some of my best rewards.
Biography: Rebecca Stringer Korpita has a degree in Fine Art/Graphic Design and worked several years as an Illustrator, Designer and Creative Director before returning to her love of painting. She paints full time from StudioGumbo on the coast.
