Art...beyond life. Art captures more than the essence of life, it is beyond life. The artist interprets life, beauty, love, and form. Although she tends toward realism, expect some abstract works in the near future!
Biography: Susan has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She grew up drawing cowboys and indians AND their ponies. Her most numerous pieces are of horses, and will soon be promoted on this website. Susan uses painting as a relaxation technique, finding an inner calm in the subtle spirit of natures textures and forms. She enjoys hiking, camping, and canoeing with her daughter Brooke. Susan recently purchased a few ponies, and will be adding them to her artwork in the near future.
Susan has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Animal Science from The Pennsylvania State University, and an undergraduate level minor in Equine Science. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Physiology, specifically neuroendocrinology, or hormones of the brain. Her current focus of research is neuroendocrine appetite regulation in avian species. Her M.S. research focused on the feeding behavior of yearling horses.
Susan would greatly appreciate comments and suggestions for new pieces. Please contact the artist to discuss the possibility of providing you with pieces of your own or of obtaining one of her current works. Special thanks to all the friends and family who have graciously accepted paintings and drawings in lieu of other, less personal gifts.
