"So many things to draw, so little time to draw them!"
If you have viewed my work and have the time, please make comments in the guest book. I enjoy hearing how others view my work and learn from it. Thank You, Tina
Biography: My first introduction to art was at my mother, Pauline Murray's side. When I was a child she drew pictures for us as she narrated stories to fit the scribbled images on the paper. As I grew older, I watched her dabble in oil painting. In high school I was fortunate to have an awesome art teacher, Mr. Dale Leasch. He introduced us to drawing, lettering, acrylics, pottery, and photography.
I married just out of highschool and had four children by the time I was 25 years old. My family became my life, but art became my independence and quiet time. I began drawing with pen and ink and pencil because it was what I had available. I have also expereinced water color and acrylic, but my love is in graphite. I enjoy the challenge of bringing an image to life through shading and love the fact that the blank paper itself highlights what I have created.
I began taking evening classes at Bay De Noc Community College in 2003 and will have my Associate Of Art Degree in the near future.
Now that my children are grown, I have more time to draw, but not as much as I would like. I look forward to retirement so I can spend more time drawing. I just completed writing and illustrating my first children's book and am in the process of finding a publisher.
Now a grandmother, I love holding my granddaughter while drawing pictures and telling her stories....and so the cycle of art continues....we draw for our children, decide to take it seriously, develop our talents, and hope that our peers find it as moving as the children do. I enjoy creating images of what God has blessed us with. My images portray a quiet life that one can revisit to take a break from our crazy hectic world.
