Biography: Claudio Urz?a Vial Born in Santiago,Chile in 1955. At the age of 14, in 1970 he entered the private workshop of the Chilean master Miguel Venegas Cifuentes, one of the outstanding teachers of Chilean artist, where he worked hart on oil and pastel color techniques.He stayed in this workshop for 9 years.Miguel Venegas has gave me a personalized kind of teaching.Besides painting learnt diferent topics of artistic culture through interesting conversations. In that workshop it was possible to get to have a complete artistical formation. 1976-First prize in Groupal Exhibition in the Hall of Banco de Chile. 1977-Groupal Exhibition of Miguel Venegas’Students at the Instituto Cultural de Providencia,Santiago,Chile. 1980-Individual Exhibition at the Instituto Cultural de Providencia,Santiago,Chile. 1985-Diploma for Groupal Exhibition about historical works in the Club Naval de Valpara?so,Chile. 1990-Groupal Exhibition at the Embassy of Canad? in Chile. 1995-Individual Exhibition at Agora Gallery,Manhattan,New York,U.S.A. 1996-Artist Showcase Award Winners, Issue Manhattan Arts International, New York,U.S.A. 2001-Groupal Exhibition at Artesanos Art Gallery,Miami,Florida,U.S.A. 2002-Groupal Exhibition at Sala Barna,Grupo Batik Art,Barcelona,Espa?a. 2002-The australian magazine "Pastel Artist international" Issue 15 May/June publishes a wide report of your work in the technique of soft pastel. 2002.Full Member of the Pastel Society of America(PSA) New York,U.S.A.
