Content; One could say Wroth is a postmodern nature artist. Blending traditional elements of Symbolism and Expressionism into contemporary approaches he creates a personal idiom in which to express his thoughts. The pairing of this individual dialect with a vocabulary based on subjects from nature creates a unique type of nature art with depth beyond the norm. The themes at the center of his work are often serious and transcendent, forgoing social and purely emotional themes he instead focuses on existence and the human relationship to it on intellectual and spiritual levels. Biography: A young American artist currently residing in the Canadian Rockies, Shawn Hansen is studying fine art and preparing to break out into the the gallery world and make a career from his passion. He is not currently represented by a gallery or dealer and is seeking people to work with in these areas. The pseudonym Wroth is a hold over from the internet activities of Hansen, such ‘handles’ are common practice in online circles, and to stay true to these roots he continues to use it. The importance of the name is etymological as it is chosen for it’s relationship to the Indo-European Root -wer, and is chosen to reflect the family of words derived from this root, and reference the twirling force these words elude to, a force visible in his art. Wroth finds his priceable network of peer and involvement in the artist community online, giving him an international perspective of the arts. Since March 2006 Wroth has been a Senior Member at DeviantArt.com, the largest art community in the world. There are only several hundred members which have been awarded Senior status, in a community of approximately two million members meaning Senior members represent 0.025% of the user population.
